Inside my craft room - NYC 2013-2021

I thought I would give you a little peek into my craft room!

Calling it a craft room is a bit grand, as it is actually half of our bedroom - that Hubby has kindly given up to me and all things craft! When we lived in London I actually had half of the spare bedroom, so I guess this is the same!

The main photo shows the Ikea Expedit, that divides the space into bedroom and craft room.

The 4 cubbies to the far left at the bottom, are blocked off from the other side of my desk, so they are perfect for holding my Really Useful boxes - which have, adhesives, sewing items, flowers and various embellishments. The entire top row of the Expedit holds papers, sewing patterns, reference books, labels, iron-on papers and any thing paper related.

Inside - right
This photo shows my dressmaking dummy - complete with a top in progress. Punch drawers, with a box on top that holds embossing folders and dies. Next to that are drawers that hold papers sorted by colour - I have way too much paper, but it's like fabric for me and wholly addictive!
On top of these drawers are Really Useful boxes with bling, inks, stamp blocks and ribbon. Next to these are bobbins, a little box of always used tools and inks and my heat gun! Behind this is a box that holds bigger embellishments, die-cuts from my Silhouette Portrait and self-adhesive lettering. My beloved Dahle paper trimmer is on the floor propped up - it comes with a 10 year guarantee, no need for a new blade! You can also see the smaller piece of Expedit. On it's side it has a note pad and my drying area. It also houses the Silhouette, my printer and misc stash.

Inside - desk
Here you can see my desk - very tidy for a change! My Promarkers are there - in the storage I made for them, using Target pen pots, along with my computer, a tool pot, boxes of Candi and sequins.

Inside - Left
This is the inside view of the Expedit divider, the top of it is a bit untidy and has double duty as craft room storage and dressing table (I store my make-up and perfume on the bedroom side!) You can see my Big Shot station - which is the best thing ever, as I never have to move it. To the left of that are mini RU Boxes, that I use to store punched items in various colours.  To the left of that is a spotty pink box that holds card blanks, they are all to hand and I can pull the box onto my desk and root for the perfect card blank, which is really handy. Below the mini RUB's is another pink spotty box that holds my beautifully organised stamps -

Stamp Folders
I am still super pleased with my bargain buy from Sept 2013. The folders are by Martha Stewart and Avery for Staples...on sale for 50 cents each - YAY!! Each folder is labelled using a Martha Stewart Avery printable kraft label and each folder has different groups of stamps (birthdays, weddings, etc). Its one of the best things I have EVER done, so handy.

Above my desk
Above my desk is my pinboard, that I made myself - kind of! I recovered a cheap pinboard, that has a magnetic middle and a cork edge. It's pretty to look at and I hang notes, pretty things, cards, vouchers and my Promarker chart from it. The little tins house fun things, like googly eyes and fabric bows. To the left of this you can see my printer and my fun stuff area, this always has one of my own cards and various bits and bobs that my friends have sent me that make me smile.

So that's it, I hope you enjoyed the peek in my craft room.

  7. Thanks, Claire. That was fun. I did have to google several of the items you mentioned, but that was cool. I hope to be setting up a craft room from what was formerly our home office. Yay! I can hardly wait, but there is a lot of work to do before I can achieve that goal. Looking into your space gives me ideas.
